How does this work?

I am a passionate, disciplined and mission-driven leader, who is excited about building great teams, setting strategy, and driving sustainable change. A common thread through my career is a focus on improving how healthcare is delivered. I started my career as an engineer at GE Healthcare, developing software and conducting research that went into MRI machines. I followed that with a ~10 year stint as a consultant at Deloitte and McKinsey, focusing primarily on serving health providers, retailers, PBMs and insurance companies on a variety of operational and strategic topics. Currently, I serve as the health plan sponsor for Hilton’s national health plan, focusing on providing affordable and accessible coverage to 60K frontline Hilton employees. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two young children and staying active in the DC / VA community, serving on the board of a local non-profit, and volunteering to mentor college students from under-represented communities.

Senior Director - US Health Benefits

Responsible for developing the strategy and administering benefits to support Hilton's award winning culture (ranked #1 best place to work in the US two years in a row). Scope includes health, welfare (life, disability), financial (401k, pension) and well-being efforts for US-based Team Members. Recent accomplishments include: - Leading our transition to a self-insured healthcare model and consolidation to a single PBM, leading to cost growth 6% below market trend - Designing and implementing solutions to promote preventative care, including design and roll-out of two onsite clinics, implementation of insurance wellness credit, and roll-out of mental well-being resources

In this strategy role, I led a small team of 2, working across a variety of strategic projects. Key efforts include: 1) Refreshing our overall internal and external employee value proposition, Thrive@Hilton 2) Collaborating with and designing our new hotel and corporate Leadership Development framework, Lead@Hilton 3) Creating an communications and storytelling infrastructure to effectively reach and communicate to our 400K global Team Members Outside of these key pieces of work, I supported various smaller strategic efforts including an analysis of our performance management processes, and development of our value proposition / monetization opportunity for our franchise estate.

Joining McKinsey after business school, I have worked through a variety of functions and industries during my time at the Firm. This includes functional experience in Operations (Sourcing, Lean Maintenance), Zero Based Budgeting (once in a merger setting and another time as part of a re-organization), Marketing and Sales (Sales force organization, statistical analysis for sales force allocation), and Corporate Strategy (5-year strategy for a PharmaCo, market competition for an Airline client). Over the past few years, I have also worked on 4 major M&A deals, spanning the deal cycle.

Manager - Strategy and Operations (Healthcare)

At Deloitte, I worked for in the Strategy and Operations practice, focusing my work entirely on the healthcare segment. My engagements at Deloitte were primarily in the healthcare provider space, working with hospitals and IDN's on improving revenue cycle operations, performance dashboarding for hospital leaders, and implementing technology tools. I also spent 6 months working on a M&A deal for two large Blues plans, developing a deal thesis, synergy estimates and NewCo operating model
