Owner, Martech Educator

The Marketing Technology Academy is an online learning center for marketing tech concepts, tools, and capabilities. We educate modern Martech Masters. I created this platform in 2020 in order to address the knowledge gap that exists in marketing technology. We help students and corporate clients alike understand both the basics and advanced concepts required to build and maintain world-class marketing technology systems. We are currently offering a Fall 2020 Practitioner Course. More information to come!

For a few years I have served Postmates as a go-to expert in their marketing technology stack. Currently am serving a tour in order to fully audit and clean up the marketing stack in the following domains: security and permissions, SSO, CCPA setup, data cleansing and management, data taxonomy and nomenclature, dats ingress and egress audit, architecture mapping, SDK updates, tool consolidation, vendor selection and sunsetting, and organizational / process build.

I originally created HBE as a simple growth and marketing agency. Within the first year, I built a $1.5M fully remote professional services practice around marketing technology implementation. We served over a dozen clients from Fortune 500 (Walmart) to high velocity startups (Postmates). In 2018, I spun off the IP and contracts to mParticle and we stood up an internal replica called "The Growth Practice" ( I served on the leadership team at mParticle for two years as part of this acquisition. Today, HBE operates as a series of personally funded micro-businesses. Operations include: - Marketing Technology, Product, Growth and Scaling Consulting - The Marketing Technology Academy (coming September 2020) - Remote Drone Piloting - Financial Planning for Middle Income Earners and Startup Employees

I ran the Growth Practice, an mParticle subsidiary, after I sold the majority IP and consulting contracts from my own practice. In my role I managed all operations and the P/L for this externally facing solutions consulting group, as well as collaborated with the internal SC unit. Our division contributed more than $1.2M in services revenue per year, roughly making up half of the overall services revenue in the years I was present, all while maintaining a ~40% profit margin. We helped customers choose, implement and leverage tech across the following growth verticals: - Paid Social & app install (Facebook, Instagram, Snap, Pinterest, Twitter, YouTube) - SEO - Display - SEM - Offline including TV, pod, radio, DTC mail - Affiliate (Button, Ibotta, Impact, Slickdeals, Ebates) - Partnerships - Referrals - Tech integrations including Attribution, Deeplinking, CDP, SDK Management, Mobile Affiliate, Location, Push, Email, and Product Analytics. Our instrumentation and consulting enabled enterprises to run high velocity, high performance Growth Teams. Our clients included Walmart, Sam's Club, Mars, Postmates, Luminary, Jet, Chewy, JP Morgan Chase, Turner, Foursquare, and Peet's Coffee.
