Utilized corporate shared services for core facilities (SAP, WAN, etc) and augmented this with specialty requirements for the division (geophysical/geological/reservoir) support. Reported to the Corporate CIO and Vice President of E&P-NA. Worked closely with the business for the implementation of SAP in the division, particularly the joint venture accounting group. Supported computing and communications requirements for all other aspects of the division, including Commodity Trading and field SCADA management. Managed staff located in US and Canadian facilities from Kenai (AK) and Calgary to Odessa, Houston, Bartlesville (OK), and Lafayette. • Ensured adequate, cost effective delivery of corporate shared services (SAP, WAN, etc) • Developed data center support strategy for divisional sites • Improved working relationship with various customers, particularly VP, Finance Director, Commodity Trading Manager, and Reservoir Manager

Based in Shekou, China, supported South China drilling and production facility (Xijiang field) as well as opened Bohai Bay and Beijing facilities. Sat on leadership team for local operation. Provided all services as part of joint venture operation – computing, communications, etc. This included drilling operation support for offshore platform based drilling and production facilities and floating production, storage, and offloading tanker. Challenges included satellite communications between offshore facilities and onshore headquarters. Led numerous efforts to reduce cost and improve performance/service within a challenging, restrictive environment.

Worked with domestic and international E&P staffs providing communications and computing support. Managed UNIX based technical computer platforms from SGI 3 D graphics devices to Cray supercomputers. Worked closely with technical population to promote requirements within corporate IT, which often focused on commercial, rather than technical, computing. Worked with E&P International organization to develop standard implementations in remote foreign locations, including Paraguay.
