I am a full-time clinical cardiologist with a busy inpatient and outpatient practice, including added expertise in cardiac imaging. I have a special interest in valvular heart disease and multimodal cardiac imaging. I enjoy practicing in the community and developing longitudinal relationships with my patients. My patient care philosophy is patient-centered, scientifically-driven, cost-effective care. I am currently Chief of Cardiology at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham, MA and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine.

Evaluate available evidence regarding the relative efficacy, safety, and cost of prescription drugs within a class or classes of prescription drugs and make recommendations for inclusion to the hospital formulary. Serve in an evaluative, educational, and advisory capacity to the medical staff and organizational administration in all matters pertaining to the use of medications. Oversee policies and procedures related to all aspects of medication use, including computerized order entry. Participate in the MHA Covid-19 vaccine advisory group to assist with the downstream issues of distribution, storage, MIIS tracking and vaccine administration.

Providing leadership and direction for the Division of Cardiology at MetroWest Medical Center to achieve the Institute of Medicine's 10-point directive to improve health care systems for the 21st Century. Continuing to develop the program of excellence in cardiovascular disease care at MetroWest Medical Center: primary and elective coronary interventions; cardiac electrophysiology program including mapping and ablation, pacemakers, defibrillators, cardiac resynchronization therapy, and pulmonary vein isolation; advanced cardiac imaging with comprehensive adult echocardiography including 3D transesophageal echocardiography, intracardiac echocardiography, gated SPECT nuclear cardiology laboratory, cardiac MRI program; clinical electrocardiography laboratory; preventive cardiology including MESA database adjusted risk assessment utilizing coronary CT calcium scoring and genomic risk scoring; cardiac rehabilitation. Integrated Program with Tufts Medical Center for the care of patients referred for: Cardiac Surgery, cardiogenic shock, and advanced heart failure/cardiac transplantation. Commitment to clinical research, with participation in several multicenter Phase III clinical trials.

Cardiac MRI produces high resolution images of the heart and cardiovascular system. It is a powerful imaging technique for evaluation of cardiomyopathy, coronary artery disease and myocardial infarction, valvular heart disease, and abnormal heart rhythm disorders such as ventricular tachycardia.
