J.P. Morgan Asset Management

Vice President

I was the data architect on a firm-wide account life-cycle management system. The system ingested data from tens of thousands of sources reliably and correlated the data between the systems despite data quality problems, analyzed billions of rows of accounts and permissions. The analysis was then presented in a web app and Qlikview with extensive filtering and aggregation capabilities. My tasks included implementation tasks throughout the system including ETL, SCD1 and SCD2 merge scripts. I also redesigned data models, leveraged partitioning and/or applied indexing optimizations improving filtering and query speeds by up to 2000x and reduce storage requirements by up to 100x. I also led efforts to document the system and designed data exports to teams that needed not exposed via the applications. Tech used: Microsoft SQL Server, Pentaho, Javascript, C#, Java, Splunk, Python.

Castle Consulting

I offered technical and management consulting to improve your software or software delivery organization. Example of technical consulting services I have delivered include ruby and python development, technical oversight, agile coaching, Linux technical operations and project management, self-service BI solution development. On the management consulting side, I have coached software delivery teams on operational, sales, recruiting, HR and financial processes, and on capacity, revenue and cash flow forecasting.

Nov 2012 - Dec 2013

In my role as Director of Platform Services, I primarily managed and coached the technical operations, data centers and the mail deliverability teams. I coached the teams through providing services to the other engineering teams at LivingSocial. Our team helped reduce the technical operations costs through various efforts, most notably moving our data center from a hosting provider to a co-located facility saving millions of dollars annually while reducing the number of servers in use and improving database and application performance. I also coordinated between accounting and finance and engineering managers to allocate technical expenses and manage the related vendor relationships.

Aug 2007 - Nov 2012

I'll quote Justin, CEO and co-founder regarding what I did at Relevance: Muness has been a big part of the Relevance story, for five years now. As a developer, a project manager, a tech lead, a devops guy, the IT guy, the finance-fixer, the first Excel pro, the staffing guy, a partner, Director of Operations, and then President. When he came in, he was a shaggy-haired, quiet, intellectual with a strong sense of pride in getting quality outcomes. He leaves, considerably more closely cropped, a master of systems thinking and a person with a vast horizon to pursue.

Jun 2006 - Aug 2007

Provided technical leadership to teams of developers on large Rails web applications with complicated integration needs. Duties included iteration management, mentoring, system design and process consulting. Client firms I worked with included Bank of America, Vonage and Manheim.

Jun 2005 - Jun 2006

Chemical Abstract Services

Enhanced and maintained EJB/Swing/CLI Java applications used by chemical analysts for entering/modifying reaction-level information associated with chemical documents. I also developed a department wide build, continuous integration, testing environment and ETL tools for synchronizing data across multiple systems.

Designed, implemented and re-factored parts of a new Web including course delivery, system privilege customization and a user controlled event triggered mechanism for automated system tasks.
