-Conducting research on the industrialisation of artificial intelligence, it’s impacts on workers, and managerial best practices -Facilitating stakeholder engagement sessions -Developing curriculum on the ethical use of artificial intelligence in organisational settings

Acted as project manager over a team of 4 data scientists to build a methodology to forecast House Price Indices for 10 major Canadian cities of a 3 year horizon. Researched forecasting tools, set project objectives, and managed communications between the analytical team and our clients: Teranet and National Bank. Delivered a forecast with a validated accuracy of 99.5% over the first 12 months for the national house price index.

Founded IAP to advance the Canadian technology policy discourse and improve Canada’s global reputation for technology and innovation. Published research reports and op-eds on a wide range of pressing issues including data governance, automation, AI strategy, algorithmic failure, and effective management of emerging technologies. Delivered a presentation to federal parliamentarians outlining new data ownership models for Canada which have been championed by an MP. Consulted for Waterfront Toronto on the effective design of urban data trusts to deal with the public good concerns surrounding Sidewalk Toronto’s data generation.

Undertook research on European Startup Exits. Analysed the incentive system at play that encouraged a greater volume of M&A relative to IPOs, and proposing policy solutions to improve public listings.

Technology and Innovation Policy. Submitted comments to Congress on Europe’s GDPR and the negative impacts it would have on America’s tech ecosystem should similar measures be adopted. Published a brief on the platform economy, in order to outline the background information needed before regulatory changes can be proposed. Developed policy solutions to changes in the labour market caused by new technologies, focussing how outdated employment models may negatively affect workers during transition.

-Completed research on incentives for General Practice within NHS England, commenting on how these affect demand for appointments and lead to inadequate care. Once preliminary research is completed, will be submitted a policy proposal on how to reform the payment scheme to improve quality of care given current resources. -Contributed to the IEA’s online journal, writing on the effects of Artificial Intelligence on the Labour market.

The Institute of Economic Affairs is a Free Market Liberal Think Tank with the aim of influencing Public Policy in the UK and raising educational standards regarding Free Market Economics. My role as a Summer Intern included: -Attending talks regarding various market based prescriptions to policy questions such as Health Care, Environmental Degradation, and Infrastructure -Learning Austrian and Institutional Economics views on topics such as the Theory of the Firm, Central Planning, Information Asymmetry, and Transaction Costs. -Speaking in Debates on topics such as Brexit, Organ Sales, and Income Inequality -Undertaking a Research Project on the effectiveness of the Sugar Tax which was presented as a visual presentation at the end of the internship.

The General Medical Council is the official Health Care regulator for the United Kingdom. Accountable directly to Parliament, it is responsible for all areas of patient safety including Doctor Fitness to Practice, Medical Ethics, and Education Standards. I worked within the Educational Standards department. Duties included: -Visually representing Medical Exam Data in Tableau in order to create an interactive database for third parties -Write Intelligence Reports on the quality of exam data received to be reviewed by Royal Colleges and Medical Schools -Use a variety of Statistical Packages and Data Visualization software in order to analyse and present Exam information, including: Excel, SPSS, SQL, and Tableau.
