How does this work?

- Significant post-baccalaureate educational and laboratory research experience with a track record of productivity and intellectual ability by way of assisting in grant proposal preparations, peer-reviewed publications (19), and conference proceedings (25) at the academic and professional levels; - Team player with a can-do attitude and self-motivated for continuing to grow both personally and professionally; - Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills. Research Areas and Interests: - Development of several preclinical models and their subsequent application in screening of novel drugs and therapeutic strategies in disease management: diet-induced obesity, acute tissue injury, streptozotocin-induced diabetes, alcoholism, salt-sensitive hypertension, uninephrectomy, renal ischemia-reperfusion injury, cecal ligation perforation induced sepsis, cigarette smoke and lipopolysaccharide-induced inflammation, castration, and ovariectomy to study the effect of hormone - Identifying synergistic interactions among potential interacting receptors using various methods such as the definition of Bliss Independence and median-effect approach - Study oligomerization using Spatial Intensity Distribution Analysis (SpIDA), protein/receptor trafficking, and cell signaling - Analysis of binding affinity under various pathological conditions using fluorescent ligand, FAM-Ang-(1-7); exploring novel methods to study binding affinity of biomolecules such as Surface Plasmon Resonance - Approaches in improving kidney dysfunction

Oct 2020 - Present

University of Houston College of Pharmacy

Research Assistant Professor

Apr 2018 - Oct 2020

University of Houston College of Pharmacy

Research Associate 2

Duties: Independently design and perform major in vivo and in vitro experiments; analyze complex results; train undergraduate volunteers and graduate students; assist in preparation of grant proposals and prepare manuscript; maintain laboratory equipment(s) and inventory; serve as link with other areas of specialization to obtain support or technical expertise for projects; recommend major changes in laboratory policies and methodologies for research projects. Projects conducted: • Using concentration-response matrix, first time reported that peptide angiotensin-(1-7) can synergize function of AT2R agonist C21 in human kidney-2 cells • Testified that AT2R agonist C21 can acutely prevent the onset of kidney injury in mice that may involve renal production of anti-inflammatory cytokine interleukin-10 • Explored the potential of AT2R agonist C21 in reducing adiposity, weight gain and obesity and showed that AT2R activation promotes physical activity and thermogenesis in high fat diet-fed mice model

Oct 2016 - Mar 2018

University of Houston College of Pharmacy

Research Associate 1

Project conducted: • Using high-resolution confocal microscopy, I have reported first time that AT2R agonist C21 is colocalized with receptor Mas in rat kidney which is increased under obese condition and these receptors are interdependent in exerting diuretic-natriuretic response

Jun 2014 - Sep 2016

University of Houston College of Pharmacy

Postdoctoral Fellow

Project conducted: • Researched in detail the therapeutic potential of AT2R agonist C21 against high sodium diet-induced hypertension, nephropathy and oxidative stress under obese condition
