How does this work?

I am a cancer researcher with extensive experience in translational and basic research in the field of immuno-oncology, DNA damage response and drug development. A broad laboratory background has given me a unique perspective on integration of basic discovery research with rapid translation of novel therapies into the clinic. I am currently an Assistant Attending in the Thoracic Oncology Services at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, with a joint appointment at Weil Cornell School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor. I have built a preclinical platform to discover therapeutic strategies to reactivate anti-tumor immunity in patients with lung cancer. The overarching goal of my work is to translate new mechanism-driven insights of cancer biology and immuno-oncology into bringing novel therapies to the clinic. My previous research has demonstrated DNA damage response pathways as critical vulnerabilities in small cell lung cancer. Using high-throughput proteomic and genomic analyses, I additionally identified biomarkers of resistance to chemotherapy and targeted therapies in lung cancer. My recent work has demonstrated the crosstalk between replication stress response and antitumor immunity. My contributions have led to multiple high-impact publications and has been recognized with multiple fellowships and awards including the Lung Cancer Research Foundation fellowship (2017), Jeffrey Lee Cousins Fellowship in Lung Cancer Research (2015 to 2018), AACR Women in Cancer Research Scholar Award (2015) and Immuno-oncology Young Investigator Award (2018).
