• With leadership team, lead office through transition to remote work and virtual services; as well as navigate a rapidly-evolving immigration and education landscape. • Lead, supervise and mentor team of 6 international student advisers supporting over 4,900 undergraduate and graduate international students at the University of Chicago. Oversee selection and training of new team members. • With Director, co-develop policies, processes and initiatives that seek to meet the academic, immigration and wellness needs of international students. • Collaborate with internal team and administrators across the university to solve complex student issues and develop, administer and advocate for supportive and educational programs and initiatives. The goal is to facilitate acculturation, healthy and successful navigation of life at the University of Chicago and beyond. • Oversee development of immigration-related programming, communication and workshops to help ensure students compliance with federal immigration regulations. • Remain up-to-date on the latest federal immigration regulations and policy interpretations as they pertain to international students in the U.S. • Serve as Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) - government-issued certifications that enable issuance and assessment of visa eligibility documents, work and travel authorization and related requests; management of student immigration records; and comprehensive training and knowledge maintenance of F-1 and J-1 student immigration regulations. • Contribute to university-wide orientation, leadership development, and diversity and inclusion initiatives through serving on committees and working groups, leading and facilitating sessions, and helping develop programs. • Lend international student expertise and intimate knowledge of the University to various committees and working groups, as well as through training and consultation with administrators across the university.
