I began my career in VAW work and delivered crisis intervention services to military families during active deployments in Afghanistan.🆘 I’ve led sales and service teams with an international health and wellness firm 🥗 and took on my first digital transformation project, configuring/operationalizing an E-Comm/ Registration site with a national non profit. 🏕️ I developed digital, progressive training modules with an education institution’s Recreation Services, that had experienced 20x growth in 5 years, serving 8K clients w/ contingent staff. 📚 I have strategically marketed a cybersecurity awareness training/ phishing simulation PaaS (mapped to NIST) for enterprise, government and highly regulated sectors. 🚄 I learned a ton scoping, selling, serving and marketing high assurance manual pentesting and technical security training to growing SaaS companies and some of North America’s top security firms. 🛡 Interested in engaging more leaders in security, I've helped companies of all sizes gain visibility into their overall security posture and automate their compliance efforts (SOC2, ISO27001, HIPPA etc). ⏩ Today, I’m developing and implementing a security and compliance program for a growing startup that eats culture for breakie. 🍳

Providing real time metrics and content, surveys, phishing and workflow customization features, Beauceron is leaving big paw prints on the cybersecurity landscape. I joined as the first marketing resource and have loved seeing the pack scale - 1M in sales, tripling revenue from the previous fiscal. As Director of Marketing, I brought together the lessons learned, sales trends and vision of the leadership team, building a foundation for brand, digital marketing, content marketing and experiential marketing, including all aspects of events/trade shows. I worked with vendors and internal team members to make cybersecurity relevant, digestible and fun, creating space for more IT teams and executives to understand their top security risks and how to reduce them. Working with a website designer and strategist, I led the re-launch of our company website, generating 2.5M+ of inbound pipeline in our first 2 months.

The Michaëlle Jean Centre promotes lifelong community engagement and social responsibility among uOttawa students. Integrating academics with meaningful volunteer service through community and faculty partnerships, the Centre supports students in contributing to stronger communities, positive social change and a more active university locally, nationally and internationally. In this role, I managed a dedicated team of Placement Officers (4 FT) and Work Study Students (4 PT) as they served students, non profits/government offices and professors. By providing strategic and operational leadership in the planning and implementation of community engagement programs and activities, I coached our team as we facilitated 5000+ experiential learning opportunities over the academic year while navigating departmental restructuring.

Venture for Canada is a social enterprise startup that recruits, trains and supports top recent graduates to work at Canadian startups in need of talent, with the mission of fostering entrepreneurship. Fellows spend two years working at one of our partner startups, where they gain the skills, network and experience necessary to launch their own firms. Building the program in New Brunswick from the ground up, I recruited, trained and supported entrepreneurial recent graduates as they entered the workforce with local startups. I built relationships with National and Atlantic Canadian funders, post secondary institutions and businesses, supporting young companies in accessing talent and securing funding to manage and sustain growth. Nationally, I led all efforts to re-engineer our recruitment software platform, improving the user experience, quantifying selection criteria, increasing access to data and creating sustainable systems to support program scaling, 130%.

URec is dedicated to increasing the quality of life of all patrons, advocating a healthy and active lifestyle and delivering high calibre programs and services rooted in recreation and guided by wellness. I coordinated daily operations of the Membership Services department. Recruiting, coaching and developing a team of 15 part time staff, responsible for customer service and sales to our membership base of 8000+. Working with internal/external stakeholders, I led the development of in-depth training modules, covering all sales processes and procedures for 8 program areas. Not only did this project support the transient nature of the front line staff, it also helped target our marketing and member engagement strategies, contributing to a 25%+ growth in overall revenue, (year 1).

Engaging youth with the outdoors and separating them from screens; I developed business for Scouts Canada through non-traditional programming, serving a customer base of 1500+. In this role, I recruited, coached and supervised 2 Camp Directors, 12 Senior Staff and was responsible for 80+ seasonal employees. In collaboration with our accounting, operations and front line team, I configured, implemented and managed an Online Registration/Payment System (91% uptake).

I managed the overall profitability and operations of the 600+ member Club, including the 20 staff/volunteers. This 180 was a result of regular sales training, personnel changes and organizing the Club to create a winning culture.

In this family run agribusiness, I was introduced to sales (B2C, B2B), shipping, receiving, inventory management and bookkeeping. Recruitment, selection and on-boarding new employees was another area I tackled, in addition to daily sales and service. I served as project manager on a 250k commercial fencing project and coordinated all aspects of a special event (~ 100 attendees). Oh and I also learned how to pick up 4, 20 week old laying hens at the same time w/ my bare hands.

Prevention, Support and Community Integration Coordinator

In this role, I developed and managed a multi-disciplinary team of 10 staff as well as 4 Service Contracts, including a 250K agreement for children's mental health services. Honing my microphone skills, I delivered agency presentations (20-300 attendees), including those targeting Assisting Officers (responding to overseas incidents) and incoming Senior Base Leadership (Base Commander). I received training in Conflict Mediation through Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Train the Trainer courses in Road to Mental Readiness. My taste for change management was developed with PMFRC, after successfully reorganizing departmental programming (200%+ attendance in 6 mo), based on Community Needs Assessment recommendations and employee feedback.

Crisis Intervention Worker

Military Family Resource Centres (MFRCs) are national non-profit organizations, working in partnership with the Department of National Defense, serving military communities across Canada. In this role, I provided immediate, bilingual crisis intervention, assessment and referral to military families during Afghanistan deployments (most active Canadian land base). I created digital resources for clients without access to transportation/child-care, developed standard response templates for support inquiries and collaborated with community partners. I also managed a $15K budget, including an immediate crisis fund and carried a Critical Incident Response phone to support the home fires during overseas incidents.

The Bernadette McCann House is a shelter for children and women serving Renfrew County. In this role I provided individual and group support to women and children living with violence, managing a caseload of 45-55 clients, across three locations. I developed my presentation skills, co-facilitated support groups on topics including Self Esteem, Managing Anger and Pattern Changing (6-13 weeks). I also conducted risk assessments, safety planning, and client advocacy work through family court and accessing community resources.
