About

Mitchell Rosner, MD, FACP is the Henry B. Mulholland Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology and Chairman of the Department of Medicine at the University of Virginia. He has served in this role since 2009. His clinical practice focus is the medical care of patients with all forms of kidney disease-from acute kidney failure to end-stage kidney disease. He also directs the home dialysis program at the University of Virginia and has pioneered the use of telemedicine and remote monitoring for these patients. His research interests include the pathogenesis and management of disorders of sodium and water balance, the treatment of polycystic kidney disease, quality improvement in peritoneal dialysis, and the development of novel therapeutics for acute kidney injury. He has participated in over 10 pivotal clinical trials devoted to various aspects of kidney disease. Dr. Rosner has published over 170 research articles in peer-reviewed medical journals such as Nature and the New England Journal of Medicine, and serves on the editorial boards of numerous journals and is the Editor-at-Large for the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology.
