About

Data science leader with 10+ years of experience in the agriculture and finance industries. I established and currently lead the Data Science Center of Excellence, which has delivered more than $100M in value by improving customer experience, making supply chain operations more efficient, and enabling the development of better products. Today, the more than 500-strong Data Science Community at Bayer, Crop Science, is working to deliver sustainable and innovative agriculture solutions, internally and to our farmer customers. Another strong focus of mine is the up-skilling of people to not only enable AI but also benefit from it. I’m passionate about solving real-world challenges, leading my team towards outstanding results, and sharing my story and expertise in data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning at conferences and events.

Developed high-performance computation algorithms for text analytics and securities trading utilizing heterogeneous compute platforms. We developed the first-ever financial computation using a hybrid architecture consisting of CPUs, GP-GPUs, and FPGAs that enabled a 300x computational speedup. Developed machine learning algorithms for assessing feasibility of usage of laser Doppler vibrometry measure of pulsations of the carotid artery as a human biometric. Developed entire life-cycle of algorithm from data pre-processing, feature engineering, and training, to validation and tuning. Our work led to a long-term grant to continue development of the biometric.
