Who are Office Hours' clients?

The Office Hours platform is leveraged by companies and organizations of all sizes. We do not charge retainer fees and clients pay only for successful consultations. Our partners include VC and PE investors, pharmaceutical companies, Fortune 500 firms, and startups who need specialized expertise to inform product development and decision-making.

Who can see my profile and request consultations?

All clients on the Office Hours platform can see your profile. At this stage, only clients can request consultations with you via the Office Hours platform. If your profile is set to public, it is also visible to non-members who aren’t signed in to Office Hours. You can share your public profile with business partners, colleagues, and other external connections to promote your Office Hours services. You can also limit how much of your profile is displayed by customizing your public profile settings or you can hide your public profile.

How do I get paid?

You have the option to be paid via PayPal, or via secure bank transfer managed by Stripe. After your call, we'll immediately process your payment. Within a day or two, you'll receive an email from PayPal or Stripe confirming your payment is en route. If you have any issues with your payment, you can email support@officehours.com for prompt support.

You also have the option to contribute some or all of your earnings to the 501(c)3 charity of your choice via our integration with ShoppingGives. You'll see this option in your profile when configuring your payout method, and the donation will be processed automatically with your payment. Read more here.

What is Office Hours?

Office Hours is a knowledge-sharing platform. We believe that human knowledge is one of the most underutilized assets in the world, and we want to make sharing knowledge as easy as renting a car or booking a vacation home. We connect clients with questions to advisors who have the answers - who are experts in their respective fields. We are building the fastest, most trusted platform facilitating conversations between clients and advisors - knowledge seekers and knowledge holders. Our advisors can speak to a broad range of topics in healthcare and tech - from discussing best practices in developing new medical treatments to answering questions about the latest innovations in software security.

How does Office Hours work?

Our platform provides a streamlined, end-to-end experience for clients and advisors. Clients can search for and view advisor profiles, and directly connect with those who have the perspectives they need. Advisors create their own profiles, and opportunities come to them. Scheduling, screening, and compliance is all managed on the platform. We process advisor payments right after each consultation. Along the way, our team is available to support clients and advisors and make sure each user has the best experience on our platform.

I have not used expert networks before. How can this platform help me?

Every person is an expert in something - whether it is your job, your hobby, or your personal project. We make it easy for you to get paid to share your experiences and for companies to get the insights they need to make decisions. Anyone can create an advisor profile and add knowledge tags to highlight their areas of expertise. Clients can view and book advisors all from within the platform.

How is Office Hours different from other expert networks?

We’ve designed a self-service platform that enables clients and advisors to focus on their conversations instead of on logistics. Our advisor profiles are structured to highlight what professionals know beyond their job titles, which results in better client-advisor matching. Our marketplace model lowers the per-consultation cost for clients while allowing advisors to get paid what they are worth and realize the market value of their expertise.

Everyone has their own unique areas of expertise - related to your day job or a hobby. By joining Office Hours, you can get paid to talk about what you know. We work with a wide range of advisors primarily in healthcare and technology. Some of our advisors have deep expertise in specific subjects and some have a breadth of experience across multiple fields.

Compliance

Can advisors or clients be anonymous on the platform?

Advisors and clients have the option to conduct blind consultations, meaning their identities are hidden and the other party sees an anonymized outline of their profile. Advisors or clients must select this option for each consultation they want to conduct anonymously.

How does Office Hours address legal compliance?

Office Hours Technologies operates under a robust compliance framework and software platform features designed to ensure all of our clients and advisors are engaging in a safe and compliant way. This includes robust Terms of Service, strict rules around confidentiality, and prohibition of the sharing of material nonpublic information. We also offer add-on features for our clients including custom compliance attestations, and enhanced advisor compliance training. Clients can also conduct phone calls “incognito” for particularly sensitive conversations.
